We implement ERTMS step by step. The process for each migration step is always the same: we set requirements and make design documents. These design documents are the foundation for the conversion of the rolling stock or infrastructure, after which we do extensive tests before we commission the track section with ERTMS.

Simulator types

We usually use three simulators to assess ERTMS: EOSS, SIGMAT and ERSA. The EOSS allows the driver and traffic controller to test user process designs simultaneously, as does the SIGMAT simulator. The SIGMAT simulator is a combination of the CORYS and BITS simulators. The ERSA simulator comes in handy to test designs for a specific track section.
